Children’s Carnival
Saturday June 6th 2009 was a memorable day for the PZAS. Our first Children’s Carnival was held at the Mandarin Gardens function room from 11 am to 2 pm.
Our enthusiastic children took on the reins of the carnival, planned the games, set them up and ran them. There were games to suit every age, mood and palate. For the adventurers there was the car game and the 3 card shuffle; the athletes played can crasher, bowling and ring the duck; the games the fun-lovers played were pin the S on the Superman and treasure hunt and the beauty conscious got funky tattoos and nail-art. Adults and children alike enjoyed participating in the games and winning the prizes offered.
Then there was the tables of food beckoning ‘Jamwa Chaalo Ji’ - with chicken Dhan Sak, kebabs, samosas, hot dogs, ravo, kulfi, brownies, need I say more? Every morsel was savoured, relished and enjoyed. Many brought boxes home to enjoy the lip-smacking ‘Bhonu’ at their leisure.
The event was a super success, and we are delighted to announce that the little ones made a real killing. Since the proceeds far exceeded our expectations it was decided, that apart from planting trees, these proceeds will also be put towards a charity of the children’s choice.
A big THANK YOU to all who took the time and effort to attend this event. Your magnanimous contributions helped make this event the big hit that it was.
After all we do want to imbibe in our Zarathushti youth the philantrophic values that our forefathers were famous for.
