The Botanical Gardens was the scenic venue for the PZAS picnic held
on on Sunday June 20, 2010. Knowing that a large group of Zarathushtis
were ready to put on their fun gear the weather hosted a beautiful,
sunny day with a light breeze wafting in across the lush flora. A gazebo
overlooking one of the many small lakes provided a good place for shade
as well as the mingling of old friends, the making of new friednships,
as well as eating many picnic favourites including pora pao, chickin
tikkas, burgers, potato salad, and chips.
It was wonderful to see our children running around playing soccer,
throwing a frisbee, flying kites, riding scooters, feeding graceful
black swans and overall having a blast. Some adventurous adults joined
into the fun as well, playing with the children as well as having a
couple of adult games. Of note there was a wonderful group of little
tikes under the age of 2, who crawled, drooled, walked, and smiled their
way into our hearts.
To top off the day, a cake was cut for all the father’s and
grand-father’s present in appreciation of all that they do on Father’s
Day.
